> Alex Walley is a tenor vocalist, voice teacher, music director, and software engineer based in Albany, NY.

Alex Walley holds a Bachelor of Music from Binghamton University (2023), where he studied under professor Tom Goodheart. He is an experienced performer in Golden Age and contemporary musical theater, art song, and opera, and has worked as both a performer and music director with Schenectady Light Opera Company (SLOC). As a software engineer, he specializes in C/C++, low-level systems programming, DirectX11, embedded systems, and real-time applications.

## Music Highlights

- Starred as the title role in SLOC's production of *Pippin* (May 2025). Received critical praise from Nippertown Arts and Berkshire On Stage.
- Music Director for SLOC's *The Mystery of Edwin Drood* (January 2026).
- Co-Music Director for SLOC's *Dreamgirls* (September 2025).
- Past roles include Monostatos in *The Magic Flute* and Arnalta in *The Coronation of Poppea* at Binghamton University.

## Software Highlights

- **Genealogy Desktop Application** (November 2024): Offline-first desktop app written in C with a custom immediate-mode UI, DirectX11, GEDCOM file support, and multi-threaded image streaming.
- **ADS-B Flight Tracker** (August 2024): Decodes I/Q signals from a Software Defined Radio to detect and display nearby aircraft on a 3D globe. Written in C with DirectX11.
- **Loonyland: Halloween Hill 3DS Port** (October 2023): Port of a 2001 PC game to the Nintendo 3DS using libctru and devkitARM, written in C.
- **Button Box**: Arduino Mega-based hardware controller that sends serial commands to a Windows PC, useful for simulation games.
