Pippin

May 9th-18th, 2025

Alex Walley starred in Schenectady Light Opera Company's production of Pippin from May 9-18.

"SLOC newcomer Alex Walley takes over where McCalmon leaves off. His opening number, 'Corner of the Sky,' sets the tone for an outstanding 'Pippin.' His beautiful, controlled, operatic voice envelopes the audience at every opportunity. His acting as the overly exuberant, youthful innocent morphs as the plot develops and we watch him as he suffers the vicissitudes of growing up.
Walley is an absolute joy. SLOC is fortunate to have found this young talent."

- Bill Kellert, Nippertown Arts
"Walley’s wide range as both a singer and an actor are apparent in this production: he is overzealous as a would-be soldier, sensual in his romantic dalliances, and thoroughly despondent in his adolescent despair."
- Jess Hoffman, Berkshire On Stage
